Blair Jollands announces the October 8th release date for his highly anticipated 5th studio album, Holograms, via MARS Worldwide Label Group & Glowb Records.
Holograms, the forthcoming LP by Blair Jollands, is a sketch of songs influenced by life on earth during the past 4 seasons.
Keeping in with Jollands’ signature cinematic style here he paints landscapes of almost post-apocalyptic, kaleidoscopic make-believe, fantasies about
new-found love, love lost, the passing of time, the absence of human touch, all via a flickering video link. With haunting, vocal appearances Iraina Mancini on Flame Of Love and Label-mate Jaimee Harris on Deep Water.
Jollands is a compelling songwriter and recording artist. Having won the admiration of both David Bowie & Boy George (who released Blair’s previous material under the name El Hula on his More Protein label), Jollands’ music communicates a paradoxical mix of melancholia and optimism that is hard to resist. Holograms is an album big on melody & mystery with a hint of Morricone. Often compared vocally to Nick Cave, Rufus Wainwright & Scott Walker, Jollands has received much praise from the likes of NME, Guardian Uncut, Artrocker, and more.
