Description
Heartland rockers L.A. Edwards released a new album titled Pie Town, out July 5th, 2024, on Bitchin’ Music Group, distributed by The Orchard / MARS Worldwide.
The American band, whose nomadic roots have spread them out over Tennessee, California, and Washington, will all converge on Europe again after supporting a Lucinda Williams tour late last year. This July marks their first headline run, with additional dates supporting The White Buffalo later in October.
“People in The U.K. and Europe seem to get what we’re doing. Each time we return to Europe we feel this electricity and I’m excited to share the new record with them first. Plus, the late nights with new friends, pizza, and champagne are a big motivator.” states Luke Andrew Edwards, frontman of the trio of brothers in the band.
The curiously titled “Pie Town,” L.A. Edwards’ fourth album will be released July 5th, 2024. Self-described as “expansive, harmonious folk-rock”, Luke Edwards states, “Pie Town is the next step down the Heartland trail for us – it’s a collection of songs about my experiences over the past few years addressing the reticence to “grow up” and all the bulls**t that comes with that loss of innocence. Recorded here in Seattle, it reflects our most expansive and explorative instrumentation. I’m excited for this album, stay young my friends.”
L.A. Edwards returned to the studio after completing a sold-out European tour with the American band Rival Sons at the end of last year. Recording at Road End Studio in Seattle, the band spent a month tracking, following two months of writing and demoing while on the road.
The tight bond and frenetic energy of a traveling family band, coupled with a laid-back, down-to-earth attitude, have garnered the band many friends, including The White Buffalo, who writes this about L.A. Edwards: “Beautifully crafted songs with harmonies only brotherhood and blood can achieve. Sonically weaving space and musicality into anthemic compositions that hit you in the heart. Somewhere between heartland and rock, Luke is always evolving with an open mind to new shapes and sounds, with a propensity for melody.”
Luke and his brothers are always searching for ways to expand their musical boundaries. Their bohemian lifestyle has given L.A. Edwards a voice and story that are authentic, powerful, and instantly endearing. Proteges of the Tom Petty camp, a radio DJ described the band’s sound as, “Eagles-esque brothers’ harmony, Stonesy guitar weaving, the melancholy of Jackson Browne, and the working-class optimism of Petty himself.” (88.5FM)
